If you've ever been to the room Costello you know how there are concerts: sticky, wet, resonant ... come on, charming (without irony, mind you) with that flavor that makes underground cave Costello add some magic to every band that gets on its tiny stage-another thing that adds excellent acoustics. If you have ever listened to Maryland, you know how they sound: sweet, catchy choruses and melodies that hook ... perhaps too uniform. But another thing is to keep that sweetness on stage ...
BOOM! Sounds "Atom Bomb". Suddenly, the five that seemed so tranquilitos, released a stream of sound that shrinks, more if possible, the room. The atmosphere was perfectly in keeping with the group. You could tell there was a lot Vigo (myself included) and also a large family wanting to listen to new issues of Maryland, your vinyl 7'' "Something to Share" with Ernie Records, but also their 'mythical' they would say in Galicia . And that's why he could not miss "Fury Road", "Red Boots" or "Lux" "Get Cold Feet".
But this is not worth the cold feet (or rather, the pulling back, the flinching) and Maryland kept the heat from the amplifiers driven by touchingly pop melodies. And rightly so, for the talented singing and songwriter writes songs that will be written and kindles the flame of the timeless beauty with every note. The musical heritage we received from small
I remember the time I began to discover music. In a first of all wine promoted by repeatedly sounding cassettes in the car stereo equipment from my parents. Mecano, Joe Cocker, Phil Collins, ... even with my memory to retain the first times that rang in my home stereo system "Born To Run" by Bruce Springsteen. By then I had no idea of it but both these cassette tapes and CDS Nirvana, Sheryl Crow or Oasis were going to make much of a dent as far as the end of the day would end up being my current musical taste.
This type of music I find fascinating heritage just because they sometimes tend to feel a predilection for those groups that sound like we found our parents. Take one case: if from an early predilection for The Boss did you feel you may now do not regret averse to the latest albums from groups like The Gaslight Anthem and Against Me!. Similar cases happen between Eric Clapton and John Mayer, Sarah McLachlan and Rachael Yamagata or Jeff Buckley and Matt Corby. The musical similarities are quite obvious in these cases but did not find nice being able to hear the evolution of something that was born from the musical taste of your family? I, personally, it does find it. A lot.
It's hard to explain but there's something really nostalgic you experience when listening to "American Slang" by Gaslight or "Into The Flame EP" Corby. In some ways it is as if we hiciesen try one of our favorites but adding a touch cooler, more intense. The album cover of Max Prosas "Imagination will win"
Curly-haired, guitar, a little hoarse voice - Max prose has everything a singer / songwriter needs. The amp now, he proved that he has ascended to the right of opening act for the headliner.
It is probably not around the Bob Dylan comparison, if one writes prose about Max, the youngest in the guard of the German singer / songwriter. He has become a serious young singer-songwriter, one of those named Fritz Rado the "New German Poets."
Before this year, he and his band came on as the opening act for Clueso, even now they tour all over Germany - and have come up with their "lyrical folk-rock" apparently earned its own fans. The amp is in any case fully, as Max prose on Wednesday evening on the stage moves, the dark blond hair with bounce, and begin with one of his strongest songs, the concert: "And were the gravity / not then I'd find you / wherever you are now / and I missed it your way "-" Wings of concrete says, "like so many of Prosas texts to find the love and the inability by the constraints of everyday life to each other.
So much life experience, as supposedly is in his lyrics, you can have the 22-year-old prose, which is Podeschwig whose real name is not even collected. He is also happy and so is his debut album, which supplies almost all the songs on this evening, "The victory is fantasy," even to the point. From Finland comes classically held, more than just solid indie Black Twig that of France also still audible indie comes from here as Cracbooms, we already know more. The two guys behind Wooden peak are getting famous for their gigs where they occupy a whole stage while just sitting on their stools, carefully watching each other. Although their set-up with guitar and drums seems quite like a garage band, their singing and acoustic triggers play very different emotion - calm and dizziness, homeliness and wanderlust. What is the Music Alliance Pact?

Seeing as Amity Beach a) only have a three-song EP to their name and b) look like they're probably still in high school, I might be jumping the gun on praising them. Still, listening to this track (along with the other two), it's hard not to be excited. They've got a great ear for catchy pop and I'd be surprised - not to mention a little disappointed - if this does lead to some great things.

A couple of years ago, a survey team was just duo with singer Carla frail bedroom Bolgeri adding colorful and sweet melodies to folk-guitar patterns created by her band mate, Francisco Marín. Noise, pop, fuzz, sound experiments. Black Twig is one of the hottest bands in the Finnish indie scene at the moment with their just-released debut album, Paper Trees. If I could, I would pick the entire collective Loud Mouth as Ireland's representatives MAP this year. Redahan one producer is at the heart of the collective and his evocative and expansive Ru in Daejeon is indicative of the collective's scope and vision.

While a noisy mess rides heavy throughout their music and kidnaps a bit of their style, within each song there are several minutes of genius song structure that highlights their ability to write amazing pop-influenced punk music. Deerhunter, The Clean and Grooms come to mind when describing their sound, but Grass Cannons seem good enough to leave those influences out of the equation.

The band, cheekily named after a controversial Muslim organization of the same name, plays a delightful blend of girly-pop noise - or what they helpfully term "Spectorgaze". Fragments indulges its obsession with Jesus and Mary Chain generous doses of saccharine melodies and interstellar fuzz.

What is the Music Alliance Pact?
In October 2008, included numerous blogs together from all over the world for the Music Alliance Pact, now there are 36 blogs from 36 countries. Every month, every blog from a song of a band of their country, which is composed of a global mixtape. Since December 2008, I have the honor to contribute to German bands.
Is that legal?
Of course! Everything is coordinated with the respective bands and labels, and so any song legally and definitely suitable for further dissemination.
Is there a list?
The past issues are finding it all collected on one's own side, which we tabled bands listed there are also clear and audio player. In addition, all participating blogs, sorted by country to find.
Why recommendations?
The above recommendations are intended to help him who does not find the time to listen completely through. They represent a selection of songs this month, having taken my taste.

Still, listening to this track (along with the other two), it's hard not to be excited. They've got a great ear for catchy pop and I'd be surprised - not to mention a little disappointed - if this does lead to some great things.

Joey Cape - for all can not do anything with the name - is a singer and guitarist of punk band Lagwagon the band Me First And The Gimme Gimmes. Who does not know ... the "punk rock anthems" à la "May 16", "Alien 8" or "Violins". :-)
His new single as a solo artist, "Going for the bronze" is an opportunity here to show what a bit of his solo career and a sneak peek at the upcoming concert at 23.02. to be in Munich.

Very large tennis?
I do not know why I introduced the band American tennis here not long ago times. At least her new single, "My better self," a harbinger of next week's release of their album "Young and old" can be more than just sit up.

Baskery live in Crane Hall
Baskery at 12.01. live in the crane hall in Munich, Country Punk, Mud Country or Kill Billy - that's how the three Swedish sisters Baskery of their style. One could describe it as an alternative-country band, which is perhaps somewhat easier to understand. Either way, their style is a unique mix of elements, although some may remember the Dixie Chicks, however, this comparison was applicable only in its early days, when Baskery have set even more on cover versions. Meanwhile, they have plenty of original songs in their repertoire and look forward to on 1/12/2012 to demonstrate to the Munich audience in the hall crane, which makes their sound unique.
Last Baskery were in January 2009 as a guest with us in Munich, then in substance. Now they have a new album called "New Friends" in my bag and hope to make it on to their European tour, lots of new friends. The instruments used by the three sisters at their concerts, is quite unusual. How to play Greta, the elder, a sechssaitiges slide banjo and serves also happen to be kick and snare drum. Sunniva who make music just like Greta not only sings but also sings, driving the songs forward with acoustic rhythm guitar, while Stella all holds together with their energetic play at stand-up bass.
Published in 2008, with the three "Fall Among Thieves" an excellent debut. Tip of the Berlin described their music as "a pleasant mix of folk, blues and country. And act in this wild and coarser, less licked pimped up and dressed up as their larger American sisters from the Dixie Chicks. "But, as already mentioned, the Dixie Chicks comparison does something, because Baskery have to offer much more power popular than their U.S. counterpart. The Music Express raved therefore logical in an enthusiastic 5-star review: "Dixie Chicks on Speed."

On tracks like "Shame And Dance", "Nobody Nice" or the single "Throw A Bone" show up Baskery rockier than on their debut LP. The country, folk and rockabilly roots, but also not deny the sister on the new album.

James Morrison live in the Muffathalle
James Morrison argues in his "The Awakening" tour in Munich 03.19.2012 HaltAm is the British singer James Morrison, a guest at the Munich Muffathalle. On the current tour, he also presents songs from his new album "The Awakening". But what surprised some observers by James Morrison speaks in this work by an "aging process". Similarly, rough and gentle, she tells of a man who has seen a lot and lived through - despite his youth.
His first hit, "You Give Me Something," not only touched millions of people worldwide. It succeeded so well as James Morrison at first, to develop a vocal Unverwechelbarkeit. The way he sings just one: James Morrison. What follows is the famous "rags to (plates) Millionaire" story: A lot of top hits ("Wonderful World," "You Make It Real"), a second, also very successful album ("Songs For You, Truths For Me "), a hit duet with Nelly Furtado (" Broken Strings "), joint shows with Stevie Wonder and Bruce Springsteen and - logically - lots of awards (including the BRIT Award).

"My last album was too much 'pop' to 'warm,'" he says self-critical, "it went in the wrong direction. If I had done so on, I had somehow lost myself. And I did not want to. The Last Holiday: A Memoir by Gil Scott-Heron
The late American musician's riveting memoir veers from heart-rending revelations to wisecracks and street poetry
The title of this posthumously published memoir might seem to presage an elegiac farewell to the good times. Musician, author, activist Gil Scott-Heron's untimely death, aged 62, in May last year, followed a decade filled with enough trials and tribulations, intoxication and incarceration to provide him material for several volumes bewailing the fickleness of life. But misery-lit this isn't, thank goodness.
Scott-Heron's final album (I'm New Here, 2010) opened with lines from his poem "On Coming from a Broken Home": "Womenfolk raised me and I was full grown/ Before I knew I came from a broken home." Some of The Last Holiday's most affecting writing fleshes out clear-eyed portraits of those strong females who nurtured him.
Born in Chicago in 1949, Scott-Heron was less than two when his parents separated. (His Jamaican father was a professional footballer who in 1951 accepted an offer to play for Celtic, becoming the Scottish club's first black player, known as the "Black Arrow".) A temporary stay with his maternal grandmother in racially segregated Tennessee was extended as she instilled in him the indelible joy of learning. At the age of four, Gil was devouring the columns of Langston Hughes in the Chicago Defender. She died when he was 12, at which point he moved north with his mother. He already knew so much about the random cruelty of death to be able to report: "I had run out of tears."
There are heart-rendingly honest revelations for psychologists to pore over: "Love was not an active verb in my family or in my life. There were few demonstrations, few hugs and embraces, and few declarations among us about love. I was a full-grown adult who had been married, a father, and divorced before I consciously put 'I love you' into conversations with my mother."
Yet this is a book with celebratory credentials. Scott-Heron's original intention was to produce a narrative in homage to Stevie Wonder's crucial role in pressing for the institution of Martin Luther King Day to be established – which finally happened in 1983. Wonder's 41-city tour across the US to promote his Hotter than July album, which features the irrepressible "Happy Birthday", was a pivotal point in the campaign. Scott-Heron opened each show of Wonder's tour, which culminated with an awe-inspiring concert and rally in January 1981 at the spot in Washington DC where King delivered his "I have a dream" speech.
By the time the book reaches this climax, we have seen why it mattered so much to Scott-Heron to be there. He has described the chequered education he collected through 17 years and 10 institutions; the social and political backdrop against which he developed his charismatic talents for literature, activism and music, recording his best-known song – "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" – at the age of 21.
In an afterword, Jamie Byng, both the publisher and a long-time friend of Scott-Heron's, explains the book's long journey, with radical changes of structure and perspective along the way. That The Last Holiday has been published at all is something of a triumph, although tantalising loose ends about his personal life are destined to remain so. Towards the end Scott-Heron promises: "How I became a father again at nearly 50 years old is a story I will save for another time…" Scott-Heron is undeniably a trickster wordsmith, reaching into his bag of goodies for turns of phrase and figures of speech that effortlessly hold attention. He veers from a slangy, conversational, wisecracking style to the tone of a perceptive philosopher, unable to resist mesmerising us with alliteration or suddenly dropping on us the sort of rhythmic street poetry that earned him the reluctant soubriquet "godfather of rap", equally able to evoke a mood of urgency or tenderness. The result is a riveting read that is, like its author, unpredictable and eccentric and funny and always compassionate.

(His Jamaican father was a professional footballer who in 1951 accepted an offer to play for Celtic, becoming the Scottish club's first black player, known as the "Black Arrow".) A temporary stay with his maternal grandmother in racially segregated Tennessee was extended as she instilled in him the indelible joy of learning. At the age of four, Gil was devouring the columns of Langston Hughes in the Chicago Defender. She died when he was 12, at which point he moved north with his mother. He already knew so much about the random cruelty of death to be able to report: "I had run out of tears."
There are heart-rendingly honest revelations for psychologists to pore over: "Love was not an active verb in my family or in my life. There were few demonstrations, few hugs and embraces, and few declarations among us about love. I was a full-grown adult who had been married, a father, and divorced before I consciously put 'I love you' into conversations with my mother."
Yet this is a book with celebratory credentials. Scott-Heron's original intention was to produce a narrative in homage to Stevie Wonder's crucial role in pressing for the institution of Martin Luther King Day to be established – which finally happened in 1983. Wonder's 41-city tour across the US to promote his Hotter than July album, which features the irrepressible "Happy Birthday", was a pivotal point in the campaign. Scott-Heron opened each show of Wonder's tour, which culminated with an awe-inspiring concert and rally in January 1981 at the spot in Washington DC where King delivered his "I have a dream" speech.
By the time the book reaches this climax, we have seen why it mattered so much to Scott-Heron to be there. He has described the chequered education he collected through 17 years and 10 institutions; the social and political backdrop against which he developed his charismatic talents for literature, activism and music, recording his best-known song – "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" – at the age of 21.
In an afterword, Jamie Byng, both the publisher and a long-time friend of Scott-Heron's, explains the book's long journey, with radical changes of structure and perspective along the way. That The Last Holiday has been published at all is something of a triumph, although tantalising loose ends about his personal life are destined to remain so. Towards the end Scott-Heron promises: "How I became a father again at nearly 50 years old is a story I will save for another time…" Scott-Heron is undeniably a trickster wordsmith, reaching into his bag of goodies for turns of phrase and figures of speech that effortlessly hold attention. He veers from a slangy, conversational, wisecracking style to the tone of a perceptive philosopher, unable to resist mesmerising us with alliteration or suddenly dropping on us the sort of rhythmic street poetry that earned him the reluctant soubriquet "godfather of rap", equally able to evoke a mood of urgency or tenderness. The result is a riveting read that is, like its author, unpredictable and eccentric and funny and always compassionate.
