digital and analog I

2012 is a very special year - because this year is on 12 and 13 October 10 instead of the digital to analog. After many years with great bands and DJs, VJs of the finest visuals, as well as readings and performances, it is time to also take a look back and behind the scenes too. Therefore, we are very mucbook the official online partner with, because in future we get a regular contributor here with flashbacks and anecdotes and interviews of many audiovisual festivals in 12 years revived.

Having been in the past week, a small tear was posted from the festival, I want a very personal account of reloading, and that as I came to the digital to analog. The year is 2010, has for a Bachelor of Science in Lüneburg me the master's program devious faraway Munich. As an arts management student of the Munich HMT I had already met the Gasteig in my interview. My first impression was that of a conservative and somewhat rigid cultural temple, the view of the advertised events spoke to me only partly. Just days after the interview for the master then came the encouraging promise.

And then the parade. My life wandering in boxes, in this fully loaded truck, the new down in the home. First weekend and installed already halfway in the WG I search the Internet helped you in the evening program. Digital Analog - Munich audiovisual festival. Admission is free, and all still in the Gasteig! That sounded great, because I had back. Once in the light illuminated Gasteig I was simply amazed by the musical diversity of the program, the strange visuals and funky performances. At all stages, in the foyers, the felt ganzen Gasteig: a single short-lived sensory overload! Such a thing is so in Munich - what a terrific start in the new city!

Full of impressions I left this first event as a fresh new Munich be delayed. And then I brought a speculative application, rather a fairly informal message on Facebook, a few months later back again to the festival. This time I wanted to look behind the scenes to help with the cause.

With a lot of warmth and open arms, I was accepted into the team. The team, all volunteers acted with great passion that I just infected. Quickly, I was then already "on board", from the first moment I was met with much confidence, I had the honor, but often not an easy task of the press and public relations. In this sometimes rocky road, I saw many big and small successes, surely some mistake and one or another disappointment. But for me it was an opportunity to contribute ideas and to realize to gain exciting experiences and to engage fully in a good cause. Bizarre phone calls, which challenged my persistence, until I came to the right person. A radio interview for promotion, in which I felt was proper on the tooth.

And last but not least, the festival itself. Coordinate key-managing, building, planning, between accredited by artists and volunteers. Sometimes at short notice and unplanned jump-when it's not working right somewhere. A bit crazy, but great fun!

And I will again this season for the digital analog 10 - even though I am no longer resident in Munich - to help with this unique event. Why? Because of the fun, friendly team and not the last of a truly innovative platform for "something different" cultural scene in Munich.
